THE HISTORY OF CAVES RAFFAULT
It all began in 1988, when Eric Raffault opened a wine and spirits shop in La Châtre / Montgivray (36). At the time, the store was called La Cave du Lion d'Argent.
in September 2007, he decided to open a new cellar on rue de la poste in Châteauroux.
The name was changed to "Les CAVES RAFFAULT". In February 2019, "La Cave by Raffault" was born in Guéret (23) and joined the adventure. Finally, in April 2020, the last family chain opens its doors in Le Poinçonnet, near Châteauroux, under the name Central Vin by Raffault. The concept of this new store is to offer a much wider range of wines and spirits.
This is how the 800 wine references and 500 spirits references find their rightful place in this venerable library of flavors, which is constantly expanding and offering new products. The selection is based on the finest vintages from the world's best terroirs. The cellars also offer "small" wines and small productions resulting from encounters and surprising, impromptu tastings, because, as Eric says:"This pleasure should not be a question of means".
Confident in his passion, he continues to be inquisitive and always on the lookout for new propositions, which he likes to share through tasting workshops with his most loyal customers or those who would like to try their hand at it.
With a wealth of experience and knowledge, Éric Raffault has always surrounded himself with qualified and captivating staff. Together, they share the same passions as he does: work well done and good things. In 2017, Éric's son Paul Raffault joined the adventure. Paul sees himself as a worthy heir to his father and today runs Central Vin by Raffault in Châteauroux / Le poinçonnet and supports him in developing the business.
