GUILLAUME CASTLE
This castle owes its name to Guillaume IX, the father of Aquitaine, who erected it at the end of the twelfth century. Surrounded by a beautiful English park, this medieval monument has found refuge in the valley of a tiny river called the German River. His dungeon was enlarged in the xivth century, but it was the exceptional neo-Gothic restoration he enjoyed in the nineteenth century that gave him the appearance that he was known to him today. The castle is still inhabited and its owners open it on various occasions: Heritage Days, market for plants… Do not miss to admire the beautiful houses of the hamlet that have a beautiful unit and the small chapel of the place. A discovery trail (1.7 km) is set around the castle. It is marked with explanatory panels.
