Frédéric Chopin composed seven summers in Nohant, as guest of George Sand, between 1839 and 1846. In memory of these summers of music, the Music Association in the Country of George Sand has been organizing the Nohant Festival Chopin for over 50 years: classical music concerts in the Domaine de George Sand. The greatest performers such as Aldo Ciccolini, Alexandre Kantorow, Renaud Capuçon or Nikolai Lugansky come to the Bergerie auditorium in the Frédéric Chopin auditorium. Conferences are also given. Reservations are made at La Châtre Tourist Office. Since 2016, music archives of the festival have been available in CD, to listen to the concerts that will delight you.
