Iron metallurgy was a major industry in Berry from ancient times to the end of the 19th century. Brenne is home to many remains of this activity. At the Latté metallurgical workshop, you can discover the cast of an iron ore reduction furnace, as well as a real forge hearth. This is a blast furnace. The workshop also presents the techniques used to produce and process iron in Gallo-Roman times.
