THE CASTLE OF THE GUARD-GIRON

A pretty manor house surrounded by a vast meadow, located in Prissac, which once belonged to Alain Giron, Joan of Arc's companion.
To the north of Prissac, Château de la Garde-Giron is a handsome manor house. It once belonged to Alain Giron, a companion of Joan of Arc. With its two square machicolated towers and two round towers, this harmonious 15th-century château is reflected in a pond. It is a private residence and not open to the public. In the park, visible from the road, note a more recent chapel. In the village church, the château is reproduced in the background of the Saint-Louis stained-glass window.
