LA BRENNE À VÉLO
In the Brenne Nature Park, 12 trails are signposted for bikes. They cover all the park's landscapes: the ponds, the Anglin and Abloux valleys with their hillsides and hedged farmland, the woods and forests. They range from 11 to 40 km in length, and are of varying degrees of difficulty. Around the ponds of the Grande Brenne, the terrain is flat; it's in the south of the park that the routes become more undulating. The routes are mainly on little-traveled paths or roads. The "voie verte": a former railroad line converted into a cycle path, this is an 80 km cycling itinerary that runs along the Creuse valley, from Tournon-Saint-Martin to Argenton-sur-Creuse and beyond (secured route). A map of the routes is available from the Maison du Parc, can be downloaded from the Park's website or requested from tourist offices throughout the region. Many tourist offices rent bicycles, and a number of accommodation providers are "bike-friendly".
