Baroque organ of the highest quality, Monument Historique, with the oldest Gothic organ case in Levroux.
The organ in Levroux's collegiate church has been a listed historic monument since 1962. Donated by Duke Jean de Berry and built by Guillaume Saffrey and Guillaume Certin, it was installed in the collegiate church in 1502. Rebuilt in 1608, and again in 2000, it is a Baroque organ of the highest quality. Only the organ case dates from the 16th century. It is probably the oldest of the three surviving examples of a Gothic organ case in France, making it an exceptional example of its era.
