WOODEN HOUSE, KNOWN AS THE HOUSE OF ST. JAMES
A superb half-timbered house just a stone's throw from the collegiate church, featuring the coats of arms of France, Brittany and Dauphiné.
This superb half-timbered house dates from the 16th century. It features the coats of arms of France, Brittany and Dauphiné. It served as a hospice for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The facade features numerous sculptures. The best-known figure is a leper armed with a stick, his skin peeling off in scales. He probably evokes the miracle of Saint Martin, who cured a town notable or a wild man of leprosy, a frequent motif in medieval iconography.
