CHÂTEAU
This site offers a panoramic view of the Champagne berrichonne region.
The ruins of the château of the Lords of Levroux, destroyed between the 16th and 17th centuries, still dominate the town to the north. Access is via the junction of the D956 and D2 roads. This hill was a Gallic oppidum before the château was built.
The first building, no longer standing, dates back to 960. Today, all that can be admired is the 14th-century entrance châtelet, with its two formidable towers framing the drawbridge and entrance to the fortress. Nevertheless, the site offers panoramic views over the Champagne Berrichonne region.
