SENTIER PÉDESTRE ENTRE VIGNES ET PUYS DU PÉROU
Count on 3 or 4 hours of walking for this beautiful 16 km hike starting from the Beaumont wine house and alternating discovery of picturesque landscapes and buildings that testify to the history and architecture of the Véron. You take the direction of Puy Prieur and walk along the old railway line to the Puy du Pérou rich in biodiversity. Then you cross a vineyard area to reach the dry valley of Durandière. You come back to the center of the village and then go back to the Roche Honneur. Then, you reach one of the shaded paths that lead to the banks of the Vienne. Before arriving at the port, you will discover the dolmen of the Grosse Pierre in the middle of the meadow. From the Carroi Ragueneau, you will find the traditional buildings of the Véron, humble farmhouses in cellars, bourgeois houses built at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. At the end of the rue du Colombier, a passage leads to the Caves aux Fièvres, an old tufa quarry from which the stones used to build the houses of the Véron were extracted. You will cross the Cruchon hillock with the remains of a mill, then the plain where stands the famous castle of Razilly and its dovecote. This historical place, currently under restoration, has seen several kings of France pass by, including Charles VII and Louis XI. After having admired a last panorama from the top of the Grésilles hillock, we reach the town center by going around the Roche Honneur hillock, by the same way as on the way out.
