Welcome to Château-Renault. A medieval town whose origins date back to the year 1000. The name Castrum Reginaldi was given by one of the lords, in honor of his son Renaud. The town's history is linked to its castle, but also to its industrial past. Tanneries flourished in the 19th century, giving the town its current urban fabric. Open Monday to Thursday from 9am to 5pm; Friday from 9am to 4pm. Registry Office, Saturday morning from 9am to 12pm. During the summer season, the Castelrenaudais Tourist Office welcomes you in the entrance hall of the "Castel'eau" Intercommunal Aquatic Centre, rue de Vauchevrier in Château-Renault.
