LEATHER AND TANNERY MUSEUM
Museum that traces the entire process of leather production, with tools and machines of the time as witnesses.
In the 16th century, with its many rivers, Touraine was the ideal place to set up a tannery. Since 1985, the museum has been evoking this period when Château-Renault was known as the "City of Leather". In the 19th century, there were about twenty tanneries in the area. The whole process of leather production is retraced, with tools and machines from that time as witnesses. Learn about the techniques by joining one of the workshops, which are open to both children and adults.
