The royal fortress of Chinon is a landmark in the landscape, preserving the memory of Eleanor of Aquitaine, Charles VII and Joan of Arc.

We were lucky enough to visit the fortress at the time when they built the audio guide with shelf they made us try it without supplement. The visit was very instructive especially with the multimedia supports. Although there is no that towers we stayed 2:30 on site. The audioguide reminds us the evolution of the fortress. There is a magnificent view of Chinon and Vienna. Do not be afraid of the steps when the fortress is visited because it mountains a package away.
Do not hesitate to go through the streets to feet to the fortress otherwise there is free lift on the town hall square.

When I went, the château was at work. Its successful restoration and its history can only encourage visitors to discover this rather unknown castle.
