DESCARTES MUSEUM
Descartes Museum, presenting the social context, major discoveries and conflicts of the time, with giant books.
Since 1974, the house where René Descartes was born has been transformed into a museum, to honour this philosopher and scientist who marked the history of Touraine. In two rooms, you will discover the period, the 17th century, its social context, the great discoveries and conflicts of the time. A third room retraces the events of his life, and the moments that marked his works, as well as his great voyages! Upstairs, a reminder of the main principles of the Cartesian method. Giant books allow you to visualize some of the great thinker's works.
