WAR CASTLE
This castle is a magnificent architectural witness of a new art of living, combining prestige and security.
Rebuilt at the end of the 15th century, on a site fortified since the Frankish period, the castle of La Guerche is a magnificent architectural witness of a new way of life, combining prestige and security. Its two vaulted basement levels contain huge granaries, the seigniorial prison and the artillery rooms. By crossing the Creuse, by the bridge, you can enjoy the view of the castle and you can take the old Roman road that goes up the hillside, in the forest of Rond du Chêne. It is a must between Touraine and Poitou.

2 parties de la visite : celle féodale au pied de la Creuse restée intacte (une vraie plongée dans l'histoire) et la partie habitation remaniée mais toujours intéressante.
