Remarkable dry grasslands in Savigny, one of the most impressive places in the Loire Anjou Touraine Regional Nature Park.
In the eastern Véron, on the eastern edge of the Loire and downstream from the hamlet of Bertignolles, at the confluence of the Loire and the Vienne, the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels Centre Val de Loire manages these 72 ha of dry grasslands, a Natura 2000 site. This site is one of the most remarkable places of the Loire Anjou Touraine Regional Natural Park with vast sandy dry grasslands, small wetlands and a former gravel pit converted into a pond. The floods bring to the lawns the sand on which they develop. An integral part of the vast communal areas of the Veronese peninsula, this nature site today constitutes the last large wasteland on sandy-siliceous soil characterized by a rich and diversified vegetation. The site is home to a nature trail that allows you to better understand the richness of its biodiversity. Be on the lookout, be vigilant, you can observe many plant and animal species. To enrich your discovery, you can download the brochure of the Pelouses de Bertignolles on the website of the Conservatoire d'Espaces Naturels Centre Val de Loire (Media Library section). Guided tours and animations are regularly proposed to the general public on this magnificent site. See the program on the same site. The dry grasslands of Bertignolles are accessible, upstream from the confluence of the Vienne and the Loire, along the RD 7, 10 kilometers from Chinon. Parking.
