TROIS SENTIERS DE RANDONNÉES
Starting from Seuilly, you can take three hiking trails which reveal beautiful landscapes, remarkable panoramas and very different atmospheres. You can find flyers describing these paths accessible to all in the hall of the town hall or at the country house of the abbey of Seuilly. All along these pedestrian itineraries, you will come across many elements of the local area: historical monuments, small built heritage, reserves and natural areas...
Pedestrian path with yellow markings
This short and easy itinerary (5 km/1h15) starts from the abbey and follows the northern part of the village. You will follow the yellow markings that will allow you to quickly access superb viewpoints on a large part of the commune and even beyond.
Walking trail with yellow markings ("Balades en Touraine")
The path, 7 km long, also starts from the Abbey. You can discover an old mill-tower. Make a detour to the town of Cinais to discover the Roman Camp before stopping at the birthplace of François Rabelais and then going back down to the town of Seuilly to find the abbey.
Thematic pedestrian path around the Picrocholine Wars
La Devinière, the birthplace of Rabelais, is the starting point of this circuit (blue markings) which follows the paths through the three communes concerned: Seuilly, Lerné and La Roche-Clermault. It is 17 km long and can be done on foot in about 4h15. It can also be done by bicycle.
