With seven sites throughout the city of Tours (and even in Blois) and around 30,000 students, the University of Tours is one of the largest in the region. Each site has its own speciality: literature, languages and human sciences at the famous fac des Tanneurs, on the banks of the Loire, the IUT at Tours Nord, medicine near the Botanique, sciences at Grammont, Polytech', the IAE, law and social sciences at Deux-Lions.... With over 34 research laboratories, it is the leading public research institution in the Centre region. As such, the university attracts a large number of foreign students and lecturers. Students' well-being is at the heart of our concerns. The Passeport Culturel program, which gives students reduced-price access to shows in Touraine, and the rich and varied program at the Salle Thélème, as well as a host of associations and various forms of assistance, all ensure that students enjoy a high quality of life.
