In the heart of the city's protected area, this walking trail takes you through medieval streets that link the Saint-Gatien cathedral district to the historic Saint-Martin district, where the basilica designed by the architect Victor-Alexandre Laloux stands. You will notice the many half-timbered houses so characteristic of the city. They were almost all rebuilt between 1440 and 1520, when Tours was the royal capital. Go to the Tours Val de Loire tourist office, and ask for the dates and times of the visit.
