Mission Val de Loire, a true cultural and tourist guide along the Loire.
Aimed primarily at the institutional players concerned, the Val de Loire Mission organises, coordinates and disseminates actions around the Loire, a real guide to escapades that are both cultural and tourist. All along the river, the Loire Valley territory includes two regions (Centre and Pays de la Loire), four departments (Loiret, Loir-et-Cher, Maine et Loire and Indre et Loire), a regional nature park and nearly 160 municipalities. In other words, there is a wide range of activity proposals. The cultural landscape of the Loire Valley is indeed developing around the culture of water, stone (especially with its monuments and the spectacular castles along the Loire), gardens and of course vines and wine. The Val de Loire Mission, created in March 2002, has been responsible for managing and enhancing this heritage since its inscription on UNESCO's World Heritage List, by supporting and developing initiatives in line with their values of site preservation, tourism, culture and education. Among the labelled projects : The Loire by bike, river to river cooperation, Vitour: the inter-professional association of Loire Valley wines, sustainable landscape management and other projects of international scope.
In 2020, the Val de Loire Mission is taking part in the New Renaissance(s) event in the Centre-Val de Loire. Several events and initiatives will be taking place in Indre-et-Loire until November on the theme of the art of living and gastronomy. More information on www.valdeloire.org
