CASTLE OF JALLANGES
Set in a park of centuries-old trees, this chateau is built of stone and brick in an elegant checkerboard pattern.
Built around 1480 for Philibert Babou (François I's superintendent of finance) and nestled in a park of centuries-old trees, this delightful residence is built of stone and brick in an elegant checkerboard pattern. The Ferry-Balin family wished to offer visiting guests the opportunity to experience "château life" during their stay: tastefully decorated, the adjoining salons can accommodate up to 200 guests, while the bedrooms and tables d'hôtes reflect French traditions and the art of good living. On the leisure side, mini-golf, hot-air balloon rides and horse-drawn carriage rides through the Vouvray vineyards (to name but a few) ensure an activity-packed stay. A guided tour will allow you to share in the daily life of the happy owners; you'll leave enchanted, and perhaps having indulged your sweet tooth, with a basket full of gourmet products concocted by the mistress of the house..
