Vineyard of Vouvray producing wine elaborated with chenin, always with fruitiness, finesse and lightness.
Vouvray, made from Chenin grapes, comes in 3 forms: still (dry, semi-dry or sweet), sparkling or effervescent. It is always fruity, delicate and light. The vineyard of Vouvray exceeds the limits of the commune and extends on the northern slope of the Loire upstream of Tours, until the doors of the city and on the slopes of the valley of Brenne. It covers more than 8 communes and represents no less than 2,000 ha of vines planted on clay-limestone or clay-silica soils depending on their degree of erosion.
