OFFICE DE TOURISME DES TERRES DU VAL DE LOIRE
An opportunity to visit the small Balgentian house in Beaugency, and to discover the history of some monuments.
Opposite the town hall, the tourist office of the Loire Valley lands is located in a small Balgentian house. The history of this ancient city has preserved a few monuments: the Caesar Tower (a keep dating from the 11th century), the Romanesque abbey church of Notre-Dame, the Renaissance town hall. François I, Henri IV, Joan of Arc, Eleanor of Aquitaine stayed there, the painter Frantisek Kupka took refuge there (1939-1945). And the famous bridge, the longest and the oldest on the Loire.
