SAINT-PIERRE CHURCH

Classified in historic monuments by order of 7 March 1908, this church consists of a nave of four collatéraux spans (th and th centuries), from a transept to two rectangular rectangular chapels (late th century), a flat bedside and a porch (th century) and is the only remnant of a previous Romanesque edifice, which is now extinct. It took its present form, Gothic style, between the th and th centuries. The wars of religion will not save since it was almost entirely burnt in 1562. It was completely restored in the th century, when the current windows were installed, especially the large flower, which are in fact large painted glass panes (glass painting). Some of these glass windows tell local history as seen in the th century: among other things, the Joan of Arc and Saint-Louis, which traditionally forms part of the religious imagery of our region, but also the Loire and the vine, essential elements of local life in the th century. Its steeple is 105 metres away. It lies exactly at the corner of the squares Jean-Zay, Jeanne-d'Arc and the cloister, on the territory of the commune of Chécy, on the right bank of the Loire, in the perimeter of the Loire de Loire registered as the World Heritage of UNESCO.
