Between Saint-Hubert Chapel and the Church of Saint-Jacques the Major are the arcades of a building under construction and have remained in the state since the beginning of the th century. The whole is surprising by its proportions, disproportionate to the chapel or the church with which it would form a whole, without this distortion. The construction of this building was started in 1406 by Blanchet de Braque, seigneur de Courcelles. It was about building a prestigious building to host ceremonies for the court. Indeed, several members of the family of Braque occupied important functions with the French monarchs, from Philippe de Valois to Charles V. But Blanchet de Braque was made prisoner during the battle of Azincourt in 1415, and the work remained as it was. The'work in progress ', because it is not a lie in its own sense, suggests that construction was only half of its planned height. It had to extend at least to the road. Had it been completed, the Church's ancient choir and Saint Hubert chapel would have disappeared.
