The national necropolis at La Ferté-Saint-Aubin, created in 1946, honors 75 members of the Resistance, including 23 maquisards executed by the Nazis in the summer of 1944. A memorial commemorates their courage and sacrifice. The shootings on June 10, 1944 at the Ferme du By and August 26, 1944 at the Bois de Chevaux were key events in the Sologne Resistance, with young Resistance fighters captured and shot by the Gestapo. Some are buried in the national necropolis at La Ferté-Saint-Aubin.
