THE HALL
The market hall, a listed building that hosts the Lorris market every Thursday.
Since 1285, the market hall is attested in the city. It was rebuilt in 1452-1453 because it was destroyed by the English during the Hundred Years' War. Open and rectangular, made up of an absolutely admirable oak framework - like the belly of an elegant frigate -, its architecture remains an example of its kind. Every Thursday morning, when the market is held there, a singular atmosphere reigns. Protected from the vagaries of the weather by a four-sided roof, the traders officiate and negotiate in a place listed as a historical monument. A real bargain.
