ORGAN OF NOTRE-DAME-DE-LORRIS
A remarkable organ, classified as a historical monument, with an Italian-style case in Lorris, to be listened to in summer.
Built according to the Italian aesthetic, the case-tribune and part of the pipework date from 1501. The mechanical part of the organ dates partially from the 17th century. In 1893, a jealous organist destroyed some pipes with a knife. Abandoned for 80 years because of the numerous cuts in its heart, it was exhumed in 1967 thanks to Abbé Michel Chausson. The organ builder J.-G. Koenig restored the instrument which was inaugurated on September 4, 1974.
