CLOCK MUSEUM
Created in 1995 by Madame Dubernet, daughter of Georges Lemoine, a craftsman of horloger in Lorris in the years 1930-1960, this museum is now animated by a volunteer association. Amateurs of ancient watchmaking, they gathered here what did the popular watchmaking of the past two centuries, the one that could be maintained by a versatile rural craftsman. In its reconstituted work framework you can see the very varied tooling of the watchmaking and, among the collections of watchmaking objects (watches, clocks, domestiques or monumentales), some pieces will remind you of the interior of the old, the grandparents and the great-grandparents. Others arouse curiosity, such as a small awakening of Napoleonic officer. The ingenious Pendastrava will make you smile, because in order to go back and continue to have the hour, a "thune" must be inserted: the workers were a small pot. The monumental Clocher clock clock, dated 1861, is the centrepiece of this museum. In addition, the "clocks workshop" allows amateurs, as well as enthusiasts, to learn techniques for the restoration and conservation of antique watchmaking parts. The workshop is open to the public on Thursday afternoon. Completely renovated recently, this museum welcomes both the passing and the desire to listen to the noise of the time that passes the amateur who wants to hone his knowledge in the field of watchmaking.
