FOIRE DE LA SAINT-MARTIN

Fairgrounds, trade fairs, gastronomy, horticulture, flea markets... The St. Martin's fair is the autumn rendezvous not to be missed. Every year, it brings together about 150 exhibitors from different regions of France to sell their specialities, and about a hundred private individuals who take part in the garage sale. Throughout the day, the streets of the centre of Meung-sur-Loire are invaded by colours, good smells and a joyful hubbub of conversation. Shopkeepers, visitors and Magdunese come together to make the small town vibrate during a busy day. Finally, on this day of commemoration of the 1918 armistice, the city is also organizing an official tribute and a religious service in the late afternoon, followed by a ceremony at the cemetery and a torchlight procession.
