GIRODET MUSEUM
Museum presenting all the works signed by the painter Girodet.
All of the works signed by the painter Girodet, presented in the museum of the same name (see the paragraph devoted to this museum) is complemented by a collection resulting from a bequest from the sculptor Henry de Triqueti. The one known as "the sculptor of Princes", because of his ties with the royal families of France and England, is also a native of Montargis (de Conflans, exactly). Vaugouard Castle, located in Fontenay-sur-Loing, about ten kilometres north of Montargis, was also its property. Unjustly unknown, the outstanding talent of this sculptor is expressed in the manor of Duke Ferdinand d'Orléans in particular (the model exhibited is a model used in the chapel of Notre-Dame-de-la-Compassion, in Neuilly-sur-Seine), in addition to other sculptures, bronzes and teething, where the dispute of the dispute to subtlety. The permanent exhibition, sheltered by the Girodet Museum, is located at the Art gallery of Orléans.
