MUSÉE SAINT-SAUVEUR
Nibelle, a small village in Gâtinais, built his fame around his pottery: tiles, terracotta tiles, household objects. Clay and forest in Orléans, this is what for centuries has made the village live. A former village of potters, hewers, élagueurs and carpenters, Nibelle today has a museum that preserves the memory of its craft. In particular, we discover the "sublets", these whistles of terracotta, which could have the form of dogs or hens, but also the famous pitchers tête of dogs here. Around models, listed tools, built workshops and stalls (cooper, bourrelier, charron, potter…), the visitor takes into the villagers'daily lives and in forgotten know-how. Visit commented for groups all year round, by appointment.
