LIBRAIRIE LES TEMPS MODERNES
Founded in 1964 by Catherine Zay, the bookshop of modern times owes its name to the journal of Jean-Paul Sartre, who unequivocally accepted this recovery. It has the undeniable charm of the bookstores who work, those who are always on the breach and searching for literary titles and tests that are not recommended elsewhere. Would it not be the first role of a bookseller to inform and propose? This small, wonderfully rich area delights every person férue of literature. First, we know that a book is first of all a matter of paper, ink, string and glue… And that this material, these more or less thick 'bricks' already open the appetite for reading. Here, the development of the works proposed in the showcases, on the walls, in the staircase, evokes a period of "Latin quarter" definitively revoked, because there was a time when one was queuing to buy books… Modern Times is the reference bookshop of writers emerging from the beaten tracks, thus attracting many readers and readers from the academic and artistic domains. Once a month, a selected writer is invited. It is classified as ITA by the National Book Centre and holds a living room in the theatre of Orleans, the evening of representation.
