WAR MEMORIAL
A commemorative monument by sculptor Charles Malfray and his brother Henri, located in the city of Orléans.
The realization of this Monument to the dead is entrusted by the city to Charles Malfray (sculptor) and his brother Henri (architect), both natives of Orléans. Work began in 1922 and this structure, a commemorative pillar in the form of a quadrangular column, was inaugurated on November 23, 1924 under the presidency of Marshal Joffre. In 1960, the monument was moved to the boulevard de Verdun due to road improvements. Then, in 1987, because of road works, it is once again moved on the esplanade of the French Memory, boulevard Alexandre-Martin.
