FRAC CENTRE
FRAC Centre has been preparing to get a facelift for many years, it's all done. The collection takes place in an exceptional building combining the site's renovation with military subsistence and the implantation of an architectural element combining metal and light effects. The building, restored by two Parisian architects, Jakob and Mac Farlane, offers a permanent exhibition space of 1,300 m², a conference space, a documentation centre... The collection of Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain du Centre has nearly 10,000 drawings and 800 models oriented around the relationship between art and architecture. This collection which gathers media dating from the year 1950 to the present day together is exceptional and allows a general public to explore the architectural theme and ask about the design and the creation. At FRAC Centre, no medium is neglected, no material and questioning from spectators is constantly stimulated. In addition to the permanent collection, FRAC Centre regularly hosts exhibitions like Archilab, recurring exhibition (9th edition in 2013) considered a research laboratory and architectural design. The elements of FRAC's collection regularly emerge from their walls and permanently run in region Centre, in France and abroad. The whole schedule of the place is accessible on their website.
