ÉGLISE SAINT-SALOMON-SAINT-GRÉGOIRE
Church begun in the late century in the middle of the Romanesque period.
A historic monument since 1912, this Romanesque church dates back to the late 11th century, and has undergone various destructions and reconstructions. The 80-metre-high spire of its steeple is a particularly striking feature. Destroyed by lightning in 1853, Pithivérien engineer Romuald Dufour, a companion of Gustave Eiffel, built the present-day roof structure. A mid-14th-century altarpiece and an 18th-century organ, both beautifully crafted, are well worth a visit.
