Railway station rehabilitated after 50 years of closure, paying tribute to the victims of the Holocaust during the Second World War.
Between 1941 and 1943, 16,000 Jews were interned in the Pithiviers and Beaune-la-Rolande camps. This site honors the thousands of Shoah victims interned and deported from this station to Auschwitz-Birkenau during the Second World War. This commemorative space aims to pass on the history of the Shoah to future generations, so that we never forget these tragedies. Open all year round. Weekends from 2pm to 6pm. Free guided tour every 1st Sunday of the month at 2.30pm (duration 2h). Free admission.

The Shoah Memorial in Pithiviers, in the former railway station, was inaugurated in 2005. Spanning 400 m², this essential place of meditation tells the story of the Jews ofFrance during the Holocaust, and features a number of temporary exhibitions each year .Moving films recounting the history of the persecution ofEuropean Jews in the 30s and 40s are also shown...Guided tours and various educational workshops are also organized, enabling you to find out about the exclusion of Jews in France, music in the Nazi camps and much more .the memorial also has a bookshop stocked withscientific works , testimonies, essays, biographies, fiction and works for young people, as well as popular and awareness-raising works. On its website, it providesinformation on forthcoming events and a range of downloadable brochures. A place of choice for a better understanding of this dark period in history!
