SOLOGNE AUTRUCHES
Installed since 1999, this breeding has carved out a place for itself in the department. On this domain of about thirty hectares, Isabelle and Jean-Pierre Perrette raise about 150 ostriches. You can visit the farm: you will see this proud bird looking down on you from its full height and staring at you with its round eyes. But the laws of breeding are what they are and an external slaughterhouse is in charge of slaughtering these large birds whose meat - reputed to be low in cholesterol - is transformed into sausages, terrines or steaks, for sale in the shop at the entrance to the estate.
