BLOIS SOLOGNE ASTRONOMIE
The observatory of Blois Sologne Astronomie (BSA) has been installed for a dozen years in Fontaines-en-Sologne, 15 km south-east of Blois, in a small commune called "starry village" where the public authorities do not hesitate to extinguish the lamps in order to make sure that in value this natural and fragile heritage that is the heavenly vault! And in Fontaines-en-Sologne we don't badin with pollution the nights of public comment… It is essential to park at the church level and then walk the rue de la Bondonnière in front of the center to the observatory located 200 m away, so as not to illuminate the astronomical site and its observers with the lights of the car! What's more, this little semi-nocturnal walk allows the human vision to get used to darkness. Once at the observatory, serious things begin with the introduction of mobile instruments around the dome and the availability of BSA facilitators to explain the sky, constellations, myths associated with it, and to answer questions from neophytes. We stay the time we want on the spot, we dive into the Milky Way, we scrutinize a nebulous eye, the eye stuck to the ocular of the telescope, we're surprised to make a wish while admiring a shooting star, we get richer in contact with the others, and we learn about the pollution. light and the inefficiency of the vast majority of public lighting, too many, too powerful, which often illuminate both the sky and the sidewalks of our towns and villages. It is clear from the evening that something must be done to preserve this heritage in great danger!
