APREMONT GERMAN MILITARY CEMETERY
Forest cemetery for German soldiers, outside the village of Apremont, the first to open in the region in 1915
Located south of Fléville and Exermont, this forest cemetery, with its imperceptible boundaries, was the first to be opened in the region in 1915. Created for those killed in the Argonne forest, it preserves most of the burial sites in their original state. At the time, the cemetery was on German territory, at the level of the3rd line camps. There are 1,111 individual graves, the tomb of Commandant Baron von Müllenheim-Rechberg, and the monument to the 27th Landwehr Regiment.
