THE CASTLE OF THE COUNTS OF BRYAS
Massive castle transformed into a ceruse factory, classified as a historical monument in 1972 in Fumay
This imposing, long château is decorated in brick and stone. Built by the Counts of Bryas between the late 17th and early 18th centuries, it was later bought by the Borgnet brothers and transformed into a ceruse factory. In 1837, a fire bankrupted the factory. Subsequently, the Société ardoisière du Moulin de Sainte-Anne moved into the former residence. Classified as a historic monument in 1972, only the exterior of the château is accessible today.
