THE ECO-MUSEUM OF LINEN R. BUCHELER
Referring to the importance of the textile activity of the Montcéens, which was founded in 1990, we present the history of washing, ironing and manufacturing of linen around Charleville-Mézières for a century and a half. This place of memory testifies to the past of the village's women, for the majority lavandières and lingères for the quality of their work. These ladies were not working on the banks of the Meuse, but in the cellars, where aménagés washing allowed to take advantage of the many wells and sources of the mount. Discover and rediscover linen, soap, beater, washing bin, iron to our grandmothers of the th and th centuries in an atmosphere of yesteryear. It is best to park on the village square and to walk on foot leaving the bakery on your right. A few meters on the right, a large black iron grid opens onto a courtyard. There is the eco-museum.
