SANTO DOMINGO SHRINE OF THE HIGH BUTTES
This shrine, which is located in Monthermé, is a place of pilgrimage, decorated with multiple plaques and testimonies of gratitude.
In 1706, King Philip V of Spain authorized the construction of a chapel at the Vieux-Moulins d'Hargnies dedicated to Saint Anthony of Padua. In 1769, the inhabitants asked for permission to build a new place of worship near their homes. The current church is a place of pilgrimage extremely frequented. Numerous plaques, testimonies of gratitudes, also decorate the walls of the church, which also keeps a relic of Saint Anthony of Padua.
