THE MOUNT DESPITE EVERYTHING
To join this site that inspired George Sand, you will borrow one of the most beautiful roads in the Ardennes. At the beginning of Revin, we climb to the Manises monument, dedicated to the resistance of the caterer of the same name, and kept until their disappearance by two wild boars illustrating the Ardennese valor. Rising at 450 m, the Mount offers several points of view: the Fagileotte, the monument of the Maquis and the Rock of the Minches. In the view of the Faligeotte, we sweep the entire valley of the Meuse, the countryside and the town of Revin. When it comes to the point of view, it is regrettable that barriers are set a little too close to the benches. The most impressive is the Falière from where paragliding begins. Picnic areas are designed to extend its passage to the site. Continue the road through the wild forest cutting on a plateau to join the D 989 at Hauts-Buttés, before returning to Monthermé. You will find a small, low-speed hostel, but well known for its quality, after the coffee coming from Revin.
