The palace of princes was built in the th century by Henri de la Tour d'Auvergne, the father of the marshal Turenne, as more adapted to the requirements of modern life than the old castle. His plans were inspired by Brush Salomon, one of the greatest architects of the time, to whom one owes the Palais du Luxembourg in Paris. In August 1657, Louis XIV accompanied by Mazarin and part of the royal family participated.
