ALLOTMENT GARDENS
Les Jardins Familiaux can be seen at four sites in Sedan.
After Germany, Sedan was the first city in France to set up the principle of workers'gardens, as early as 1893. Abbé Lemire, priest of the Diocese of Cambrai, laid the foundations for the development of these gardens. However, it was finally Marie-congratulatory Bridoux, known as Félicie Hervieu, who had definitively launched the rental of land to cultivate for modest prices the needy families. This is because they feed on their productions and no longer go to the good works. These gardens, from 50 to 400 m ², are still being exploited. They can be observed at four sites: Pierremont, La Garenne, La Prayelle and La Terre aux.
