SITE DES VESTIGES DU CANON DE MARINE ALLEMAND
Site where you can see the remains of a German naval cannon built in 1916 during the First World War
To the south-east of the so-called "Noue Ramon" place, you can see the remains of a German naval gun built in 1916 during the First World War. The site, classified as a historical monument since 1922, was at the time hidden in the heart of the forest, behind a screen of vegetation that allowed it to go unnoticed by French soldiers and inhabitants. Explanatory panels retrace the history of this 38 cm calibre, 17 metre long gun, with a range of 37.5 km, which was originally intended to be used to equip the turret with a Bayern type battleship.
