The Maison de la Dernière Cartouche in Bazeilles, a memorial to the 1870 war, recalls the courageous resistance of French troops to the Bavarians. Surrounded on August 31, 1870, the soldiers fought until their ammunition ran out. Captain Aubert fired the last cartridge, symbolizing their bravery. Since then, the house has been a place of remembrance and pilgrimage, perpetuating the memory of this heroic deed. The museum was renovated in 2005, preserving the authenticity of the premises.
