RENAISSANCE HOUSE
This imposing stone house is a Bar-sur-Seine landmark
This imposing stone house is a Bar-sur-Seine landmark. A small heritage building, its ribbed bays supported by large cylindrical piers make it easy to recognize Jehan Le Martin's building. "The Renaissance house, where brick and half-timbering blend harmoniously, has belonged to the same family since it was built. The cornice features Saint-Roch with his dog and, on the façade, a striking motto that the town has now appropriated: "Mieux vaut un peu avec justice que gros revenu sans équité" ("Better a little with justice than a lot without justice").
