THE VANISHED GARDENS OF MOREL-VINDEE
A plan preserved at La Motte-Tilly Castle testifies to the old presence of a large disappeared garden, that of the Châtelaine Châtelaine châtelaine family in Courtavant, one of the three small hamlets located south of Barbuise. Purchased by Benoît Morel in 1707, the domaine de Courtavant will be refurbished by his son Charles François, circa 1760. The castle is then rebuilt in the classical style and the gardens are set.
